EDELAC’s Social Work program intervenes in the child’s education and social formation by providing counsel and defending their human rights against injustices.
The program organizes workshops and conferences that target the children’s parents to improve their social education through love, respect and comprehension with the goal of having a better family relationship.

One of the program’s main goals is to improve the sexual education in Quetzaltenango’s youth. We focus on protecting children and adolescents from sexual and psychological abuse, early marriages, and bring down the rates of unwanted pregnancies.
Our program is looking to have an impact in Guatemala’s government to improve policies that benefit children and adolescents. We organize leadership workshops and conferences with officials and professionals to show the children the multiple ways in which they can make an impact that benefits the environment that surrounds them.
EDELAC’s school program provides formal elementary education to more than 160 children at high risk for homelessness in the Barrio Las Rosas neighborhood in Quetzaltenango.
Quetzaltrekkers program is one of a kind business that gives 100% of their income to the children of EDELAC while providing to adventurous hikers a one of a kind experience.
The Hovde House is a crisis attention center for children and teenagers that live in extreme poverty or have previously been homeless.
